Celebrating our 45th Anniversary — Finally!

MBCFM > Market News > Celebrating our 45th Anniversary — Finally!

It’s hard to believe, but our farmers market organization is 46 years old this July! Last year, our 45th-anniversary celebration was postponed due to the pandemic — so this year, we are celebrating! What began as a small, grassroots effort by a few local farmers 46 years ago, the Aptos Farmers Market has blossomed into the most beloved farmers market in Santa Cruz County.  Our farmers markets expanded from one market in Aptos into four, including two in Monterey at the Del Monte Shopping Center and one in Carmel at The Barnyard.

Please join us on Saturday, July 23 at the Aptos Farmers Market at Cabrillo College to celebrate our 45th Anniversary in style! We will be serving cake and giving away eco-friendly mesh produce bags (while supplies last). And, back by popular demand, we will have our MarketWear Work-The-Farm T-shirts and hats for sale at the information booth!

We want to thank our customers for doing their weekly shopping with us which helps to support local family farmers and food artisans.— together we made it to another anniversary milestone and we are deeply grateful.
