Spring flowers at seasonal market openings

We always look forward to our two seasonal farmers markets opening in May! The doldrums of winter are behind us and root vegetables and winter squash are replaced with displays of a stunning selection of berries, stone fruit, leafy greens, herbs, colorful spring flowers, and potted plants.

The Carmel Farmers Market, hosted by The Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel, opens Tuesday, May 11, and will be open from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Barnyard is located at the intersection of Highway 1 and Carmel Valley Road. The Barnyard location is particularly charming with its brick-lined courtyards, winding paths, open-air patios, and impeccably landscaped flower beds and makes a delightful escape from the crowds and common mall experience. The Del Monte Farmers Market at the Del Monte Shopping Center opens Sunday, May 9, and will be open from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The open-air farmers market is located in the back parking lot behind California Pizza Kitchen and Yama Sushi. We are deeply grateful to the Del Monte Shopping Center for providing a new location and hosting our Friday and Sunday farmers’ markets during the pandemic. Bring the family — it’s minutes away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and beautiful beaches for a picnic and family outing. For a map or directions, please click here.

As a reminder, masks and social distancing are required. We also ask that you leave pets at home.
