The Monterey Bay Certified Farmers Markets is honored to be recognized as Business of the Year by the Aptos Chamber of Commerce.
“We are so proud to receive this recognition,” said longtime market director Catherine Barr. “As we look ahead to celebrating the 50th anniversary of our farmers markets next year, we are deeply grateful for the support of our local community.”
Since taking the helm in 1993, Catherine has guided the markets from their modest beginnings into a thriving family of four vibrant markets in Aptos, Monterey, and Carmel. Under her stewardship, the markets have flourished—connecting farmers and food producers directly with the community while preserving the region’s agricultural roots.
The award will be presented at the Aptos Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner and Auction: Light Up the Night, held at Seascape Beach Resort on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 5–9 PM. This special evening honors individuals and organizations who have made a lasting impact in the Aptos community.
We also congratulate the other 2025 honorees:
-

-
