We’re excited to introduce a fresh lineup of vendors bringing exceptional flavors and craftsmanship to our farmers markets. From wild-harvested coffee in the forests of Fiji to hand-massaged dried persimmons grown right here in Santa Cruz County, these producers are passionate about their ingredients, their craft, and their connection to the land.
Fiji Wild Coffee sources its beans straight from the lush, untouched forests of Fiji, where they grow naturally in the wild. Picked by hand and free from chemicals or monoculture farming, these wild-harvested beans absorb nutrients from their natural environment, resulting in rich, complex flavors with hints of chocolate, fruit, or floral notes. Roasted in small batches, their blends are crafted to bring out the rare, natural flavors of Fiji’s wild coffee for a perfectly balanced cup.
Klein Family Farm brings their legendary Delta Queen asparagus from Stockton, California, where their family has been growing asparagus for nearly 100 years. Their asparagus thrives in the rich Delta peat soil, nourished by Sierra snowmelt water, producing sweet, tender stalks with a clean, pure flavor.
Qouign (pronounced “queen”) offers exquisite, hand-crafted chocolates and confections by acclaimed chef Santana Rodriguez, whose work has been featured in Edible Monterey Bay, Big Sur Food and Wine, and Pebble Beach Food and Wine. Sourcing ingredients from local farmers, beekeepers, and foragers—or premium suppliers like King Arthur Flour and Valrhona Chocolate—her products are as thoughtful as they are delicious.
Santa Cruz Permaculture introduces the rare and coveted Hoshigaki, whole dried Hachiya persimmons gently hand-massaged as they air dry for a month or more—a process that coaxes out their natural sugars. Often called “the Kobe beef of fruit,” these delicacies as well as kiwi, small-batch canned goods, and artisanal vinegar will be available.
Wildstag Provisions specializes in responsibly sourced game meats including wild boar, elk, venison, bison, and fish. Free from feedlots, hormones, and GMOs, their meats reflect founder Daniel Laggner’s background in environmental science and his commitment to ethical, sustainable sourcing.
