Seeking Gardening Books for the Book Exchange

MBCFM > Market News > Seeking Gardening Books for the Book Exchange

The cookbook exchange at the Aptos Farmers Market has been a hit — and now, we’re growing it! We’re excited to announce that we’ve expanded the exchange to include gardening books.

With spring in full bloom, it’s the perfect time to declutter your shelves and pass along gardening books you’ve enjoyed. We’re currently seeking donations to help build a vibrant collection that will inspire fellow gardeners and home cooks alike.

Inspired by the timeless tradition of book sharing — famously promoted by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie more than a century ago — our book exchange is all about building community through a shared love of food and gardening. Whether you’re an experienced gardener, a budding cook, or both, this one-for-one swap lets you trade in a cookbook or gardening book for something new to explore.

You’ll find the exchange bookshelf next to the information table on the middle level of the market. Bring a gently used book, leave with a new favorite, and help cultivate a growing community of cooks and gardeners!
